This was an incredible project. The best part about it has to be the ongoing relationships that Jessica is building on behalf of the ministry and Christ. Many people struggled with the concept leading up to the project cause they couldn’t wrap their minds around the idea of loving prostitutes through giving a huge gift that makes their ever day lives better. From first hand experience I can tell you that the gift was received as tangible expression of how great God’s love is for them and for all of us.

I assume a good portion of you read our family blog as well, but just in case here is an update following ‘church planting assessment’. This is an unusual season of being ‘in-between’, however, Strip Church & Factor 1 Studios are going very well.
As I mentioned previously, I am excited to announce a new project that Matt & I are working on through Factor1: www.BrandedPHX.com This is a local effort in Phoenix lead by the city initiatives team of Food for the Hungry. As you my not be aware, there is sex trafficing that happens right under our noses that involves minors, most of whom are not necessarily illegals. Be watching their site to see some new developments in this movement that is taking place to bring this cycle to an end in our city.
Also, incase you haven’t seen it, here is a video related to my involvement with ‘Strip Church’ in Las Vegas. It is from our Donor mtg. on Nov. 14. Dec. 4 there will be a whole Nightline episode related to our new ministry efforts.

[wow - it's been almost a month since i have been on this blog; sorry about that - here are some ministry updates]
As many of you know, one of the projects that I am doing with my time this year is participating fully in the launch of “STRIP CHURCH” (www.stripchurch.com). Last night we had gathering here in Vegas for key donors, supports and fans of xxxchurch.com & fireproof ministries. Our goal was simply to roll-put our full ministry strategy and garner the initial support and investment to get this brand new outreach work off the ground. Over the next few days and weeks leading up to the new year, we will see what God has in store for the ministry in the support area. Certainly there is a lot of interest and enthusiasm.
For most who have not lived here (or near here), the very thought of living and ministering any where in the Vegas area certainly conjures up thoughts of craziness & wildness. Now add to that the fact that we plan to do ministry RIGHT ON THE STRIP and in the conventions/trade shows that are here year round, that adds an extra factor of “what?” to the equation when talking with people and explaining this new ministry.

jen & i really appreciate all of the interest & questions we have received about what we are doing next with our lives.
here is the simplified version:
- after 11 years on staff @ Central, i am heading out into new leadership pursuits; i finish my run on staff @ the end of Oct. 2008 [thank you to Cal & all the leaders who make Central a great place to work]
- we will be living in Mesa through the end of the school year; still attending and volunteering @ Central
- eventually (by Jan. 2010) we will be starting a brand new church under the umbrella of Orchard group.
- we aren’t certain WHERE yet, but we are leaning towards Seattle or Baltimore/D.C.
- for now I am ‘feeding the family’ by leading in 2 very exciting endeavors:
- Strip Church – Las Vegas – new ministry outreach w/ long time friend Craig Gross
- Factor1Studios – local – business partnership w/ good friend & fellow mtn. biker Matt Adams
